GCSE results day is always one of the best days of the year as it allows us to celebrate the successes of our outstanding young people. This year is no exception.
Our current year 11 are a credit to themselves and the school; those who have closely followed their journey across the year will know how dedicated they’ve been in securing their success through hard work and determination. They’ve continually impressed us with their commitment and we’re so pleased for them that this hard work has reaped the deserved rewards.

Penketh High School has also made significant improvements on a whole school basis. Whilst figures are not confirmed until October, it appears the year group have delivered the school’s best ever results against both the progress 8 measure and the old headline measure of 5 x A*-C/9-4 including English and Maths. We’ve also seen more pupils than ever before achieve passes in both English and Maths and pupils have made better progress than ever before.
The results represent the second consecutive significant uplift in outcomes at Penketh High School and I’d like to thank the staff for their efforts in driving improvement at the school over the last two years. They demonstrate an incredible level of commitment to secure the very best for our pupils whilst offering students an ambitious and academically rigorous curriculum – evidenced by over 67% of pupils undertaking the English Baccalaureate.
Our outstanding young people should be exceptionally proud of their efforts and we’re pleased that they leave Penketh with a really good foundation for the next stage of their lives. We wish all of the pupils the very best for the future and look forward to hearing about their continued success.
